The Captain Cook 1770 Festival Art Show is a great excuse to visit one of our closest tourism meccas, the beautiful Agnes Water and Town of 1770.
The event runs from the Wednesday the 23rd to Sunday the 27th of May and is one of Queensland’s most comprehensive art competitions with prizes awarded in the fields of Painting, Drawing, Photography, Sculpture and Textile.
The opening takes place on Wednesday 23rd May at 6:30pm at the Agnes Water Community Hall on Springs Road, Agnes Water.
Opening night attendee's will preview the art entries and be present when the sectional prizes are awarded. They will also be able to vote for their favourite Art Show entry. The winner of the People's Choice Award will be presented with a cheque in the amount of $350. The cost to attend the Opening Night Cocktail Party is $20 Adult, $10 Children under 12. Hors d’ouvres will be served.
The Art Show is open for public viewing during the Festival from Thursday 24th to Sunday 27th May from 10am to 3pm. The entry fee is a gold coin donation.
